Our History
Paul Borg’s journey from a tiny press in Rabat, Malta, to a small garage in Detroit, and to leading one of Michigan’s largest commercial printing operations is a testament to entrepreneurial spirit, resilience, and the power of community. Originally from Rabat, Malta, Paul emigrated to the United States nearly four decades ago with no long term plans just a desire to explore opportunity.

The Early Years
With a passion for printing rooted in his early years where he opened a tiny press in Rabat using money from his mother and siblings Paul quickly put his skills to use in his new home. He purchased his first printing press and began producing materials for churches, schools, and friends out of his garage.
1983 - The Foundation
What began as a brief visit, soon became permanent, and by 1983, Paul had laid the foundation for what would eventually become Printwell.
1987 - Growth
By 1987, the business had grown sixfold and continued to expand steadily through the 1990s, even during periods of economic uncertainty. Paul's ability to adapt and invest during downturns positioned Printwell as a regional leader in commercial printing.
Today - Pursuing Excellence
Today, Paul Borg serves as CEO of Printwell in Taylor, Michigan. In addition to his business success, he is an active community leader, currently serving as the Honorary Consul of Malta in Detroit, Michigan. His story reflects not only personal achievement but also the lasting impact of dedication, family, and the pursuit of excellence. Forty-plus years later, Printwell Inc. is more than a business. It's a symbol of what's possible when desire meets opportunity, and a tribute to a young man who left Malta with nothing but a dream and a stubborn belief that stories, like ink, are meant to last.
